These conveyors feature an extremely sturdy “belt” made of adjoining “platelets”, not disimilar to the caterpillar-tracks of a tank. This provides an extremely strong and rigid carrying surface, suitable for heavy loads giving the machine many of the characteristics of a standard belt conveyor , but with the advantage of non-slip high-torque chain drive . These platelets also allow the conveyor to operate in extreme environmental conditions, such as very high – or low – temperatures that might destroy a conventional rubber or fabric belt. The Slat Conveyor Systems are used for general assembly production. The systems require no lubrication and very low maintenance. Slats are connected on two standards of chain by attachments. The construction is such that any slat can be removed easily. Fixtures can be mounted on the Slat for application such as assembly line conveyor.
